Anchors Fish Chips

Mediocre food. Nonsensical sauce policy/pricing. Bad attitude from the employee that waited on me.First, I always say hello how are you and please and thank you and try to be very kind and polite to service industry workers since so many people treat them badly. The woman at the counter wearing a hat and glasses didn 't say anything after I said hi how are you so I proceeded to order #6 Fish, scallops, and chips. She said back to me scallop and chips? , So I clarified, #6 with fish AND scallops please. She rang me up.The food came out quickly within 5 minutes but it was only scallops, no fish. I brought it up to her at the counter and said I 'm sorry but I ordered the fish and scallop combo....

The fish and chips here is great. But that 's the only good part. The best way to describe the service here is stingy. Expensive drinks, no refills, a tiny cup of coleslaw (you could eat it in one bite) is $4, anything under $5 needs to be on cash.Dining experience isbokay. Half the restaurant is filled with boxes.It 's a shame how they run it because the food is good. I just feel bad whenever I spend my money here.EDIT: Their response says drinks are refillable. There was a sign inside saying they explicitly are not refillable. Either the response below is incorrect or they had incorrect signage.

5 stars for the food and ambiance. I tried this place out today and really liked their fish, calamari, and fries. It golden and crispy and was fried perfectly. Not greasy. The place was clean. The lady who was there wasn't rude or anything, attitude was pretty neutral. She was mostly busy on the phone and gave me extra tartar sauce when I asked for it.

The fish, oysters, and fries were all cooked perfectly as always. But my favorite reason for visiting is the atmosphere. It's always peaceful here. When I'm having a tough day, if I can't make it down to the river this is one of my favorite places to go.Kid-friendliness: There are highchairs available. And they have kid options on the menu.

I feel bad leaving this review...I had high hopes for this place specially there's a lot of ppl ordering. I ordered 1 pc Fish and chips, 2 pc fish and chips and hush puppies. My total with tip came out to $30. Quite expensive for food that was extremely bland no seasoning whatsoever. Disappointed.
