Bryan 's Steaks is one of the best hidden gems in Lubbock Texas! Not only was the food good, the service is great, and the prices are fantastic! The inside of this place looks like it probably did when it opened. But that adds the scene of this entire place! Don 't let that be a deterrent. The price was amazing! I had the Golden Fried Fish lunch special that is $8.49. That does not include a drink. But it does come with an all-you-can-eat salad buffet option! I have been eating steaks at Bryan's for over 40 years. I met my wife at Goodner's/Bryan's over 40 years ago when she was a waitress there. I have been a personal friend of Bryan for most of those 40 years. Having said all of this, last week, Sunday 8/11/24 we went to eat lunch after church and my wife ordered the sirloin. It was so disgusting that after 3 bites we took it home to our dogs. We went to Bryan's again today, because I have VERY rarely got a poor meal here in over 40 years. We'll, my ribeye was worse. It was a pleasant surprise to find that places like Bryan's still exist. This place is doing a booming business in offering up a good steak dinner with all the fixings for between $10 and $15. It is one of the few places that I have visited recently that is well staffed , offers friendly service and allows you to enjoy a good meal in less than 1/2 hour from the time you enter to when you leave being fully satiated. Bryan's also offers several chicken and seafood options if steak is not your thing. Bryan's only accepts cash but this is probably a major reason why they can keep their prices so reasonable. The only thing that I found missing was an obvious tip jar for rewarding the service staf...

I used to LOVE it here! I ordered a ribeye med-rare. The steak was a greyish color and the texture was like they dipped it in a baking soda treatment to tenderize it. Like Asian restaurants use to tenderize their meats. The steak was not cooked as ordered and just flimsy with an unsettling taste, like a water dunked piece of meat. The young lady seemed to cop an attitude when it was returned. I waited 20 mins with no steak. Again she coped an attitude for me chasing down my steak for the 2nd time. My sons chicken fry was tough, kinda like from frozen to fry. Salad bar is very basic as it has always been. Not bad for a cheap salad setup. That was my last time to eat here. We had the fried fish launch special with salad bar. The price was reasonable. The salad bar was really good. We absolutely loved it. It had various options for vegetarians. The fish was okay a bit bland. Good baked potato. Will go there again for the salad bar.
