We've eaten in a lot of genuine Mexican restaurants, the food here is almost as good. Drinks are very reasonable prices, service is fast and friendly. We had the taco special with sides and salad, all came to the table within 10 minutes, our drinks arrived sooner. We heard about this place from friends who come here for the Tuesday night discount specials. Don't arrive expecting a super-Mexican ambience. I'm not sure that a lot of Mexicans from Mexico have reviewed this place. Because a lot of the reviews keep saying authentic Mexican food. While the food is delicious & there are some good authentic like dishes their main claim to fame which is their tacos are served on a flour tortilla... So NOT authentic. They also serve fries as a side & they offer Chimichangas. As a native of Mexico City who is in my late 20s I have still never tasted/figured out what a chimichanga is. It is definitely not a TacoBell, but it certainly is not authentic. Think about it as Mexican lite, for starters if you will. If you're looking for scratch-made authentic Mexican food than look no further than Cheachie's Grill. A low-key, blink and you miss it restaurant next to the Comfort Inn Bayer's Lake with great food. We had the beef tacos and steak enchiladas and both were delicious. I am adverse to spice and was easily accommodated. My Husband who loves spice was thrilled to find no less than 6 homemade sauces. One made with Habenero and Ghost peppers (not for the faint of heart) but he thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the kind of place we look for on vacation, not a tourist trap or a big chain but just good food at a reasonable price.

Stopped by for lunch recently and wanted to take it back to work, so I had it to go. The service I received was exceptional. It was served up fast and the lady who served me was extremely helpful and courteous. My only complaint would be the small amount of salsa they provided, it only was enough for about 1/4 of my chimichanga.

Enjoyed two specials, one with crispy tacos, one with pork carnitas! Tasty food, great service ... no excuse to not come back again another day!
