I dropped into the Congee Queen for an early supper last night with full intentions of trying my first congee. However, after looking it up online I had decided it might not be for me. Instead I ordered a noodle soup with grouper and preserved egg which also came with a milk bubble tea $8). The soup itself was okay, if not a little bland. I enjoyed the fish and the egg though. My bubble tea was interesting. It was my first bubble tea, so I didn 't really know what to expect. I am not a big tea fan to start so that part of the beverage was lost on me. Congee Queen is my new go to Chinese food restaurant. The service is fast, food tastes great and portions are huge!<br/ <br/ My two favourite dishes are Yeung Chow Fried Rice and Diced Sirloin Golden Bowl. Their fried rice is probably the best I've ever had in Toronto delicious and not greasy or salty. The amount you get is good for 3 4 people. The sirloin dish comes with mixed vegetables and is presented nicely in a crispy wonton bowl. Patthai!!!! It's a tough decision between Chicken and Seafood, so when they are served together on one platter, it's hard to resist! For those cravings, you must try the Chicken and Shrimp Patthai. Every time we visit Toronto, we always make sure to stop at this particular restaurant, as the others we've heard about just don't measure up. The Asian comfort food here is delicious and reasonably priced. They have a variety of roast dishes like duck and pork, as well as a wide selection of congee options (hence the name)!

The Chinese food at this restaurant is consistently delicious. They have a large menu with all the classic dishes, as well as fresh Chinese BBQ made in-house. The prices are average and the premises are well-maintained. Overall, I would give it a rating of 4 out of 5.
