We have dined at this restaurant many times and decided to visit again to celebrate our GCSE results. The food was delicious as always, but we found the starters to be overpriced. The service was inconsistent, with some main dishes arriving well before others and the side dishes. We only ordered water to drink, but were told we could not have a jug on the table, despite seeing jugs available, forcing us to constantly flag down servers to refill our glasses. This was an unnecessary inconvenience that left us without a drink at times and caused issues for the busy staff. My 2nd visit to Giggling Squid (first time I went to the Winchester one with friends). Took my husband for date night and very much enjoyed the festive Merry Bakewell cocktail was very tasty. Food was great, service was great too, everything was lovely. My only feedback is that some gluten free people are also dairy free and I always find a lack of effort when it comes to desserts. Be better, and make tasty gluten and dairy free desserts it’s completely possible thank you
This charming restaurant has a friendly staff and a wonderful interior space. Despite its light and airy atmosphere, it still manages to feel cozy and clean. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, especially during lunch when they offer set tapas plates. The servers are very friendly, always smiling and cheerful.
