Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

I had Gus's chicken in Memphis TN about a week prior to coming to this location. I was hoping everything was the same...it pretty much was. The chicken and fried green tomatoes were on point. Just like they were in Memphis. I did not have greens, baked beans, Mac or coleslaw in Memphis but I did try them at this location. I would not order any of those again. The greens were very salty and tasted like they were cooked in Chicken broth. The Mac was not good, definitely a frozen product. Could have been better with a little seasoning. This place is awesome. Update 5/14/23: As a family we hadn't been here in about 4 years. For a Mother's Day, I thought it might be a bit busier. Be prepared that it will be a little chilly. They keep it cool inside. You will also be charged an extra ,75 for ranch dressing. Food took a while to be served but that might have been a staffing issue. There wasn't a lot of staff present, i.e. there was one waitress. The chicken was really hot and tasted fresh. The okra was warm. The greens were really good. Our waitress was very friendly.

Restaurant was nice and clean . Order the 3 piece dinner . Potato salad was excellent. The season fries were amazing. Baked beans was good. The chicken was amazing. The Mac and cheese could’ve stayed in the kitchen , wasn’t good but other than that good good food . Definitely will be back again when i visit Detroit.

Really good chicken. Only seems to come spicy but not overly. I’ve been here a half dozen times and the chicken always seems to be a tad overcooked. But it’s still some of the best store-bought you’ll find.Food: 5/5

It's good over priced for what you get i would recommend krispy krunchy chicken over this place. Although their iced tea is very good.
