As many other reviewers have mentioned, Gypsy 's Trattoria Italiana is a Berkeley spin! It was always one of the most affordable Italian restaurants throughout the Bay Area; Hell I'd even say in California. And given its not a chain restaurant (such as Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill), you're always a unique experience all at a very affordable price that 't break the bank. This place is located in the heart of Berkeley on Durant Ave with Telegraph Ave the next crossing. This special area is practically impossible to find parking places so it is best to come here on foot, bicycle, Uber/Lyft, AC Transit or BART. Authentic Italian cuisine served in an incredibly fast fashion. They really have chosen their recipes and prep process. It is no wonder that they won Best Italian Cuisine in Berkeley every year since they opened 30 years ago. I've been here for years and I've never been disappointed. They have a wide range of seafood, beef, chicken and vegetarian dishes. But best is their signature sauces, they have the best pesto I've ever had and their gorgonzola sauce is amazing. And each dish served with 1 or 2 pieces of roasted garlic bread.

I ordered the pesto con pollo. The pesto sauce was rich and strong, and there were so much chicken inside! Every serve is big size, so you?d better share with friends! Btw, the garlic bread was sooo great?omg

Delicious, cook to order Italian food. Very quick and friendly service. Very reasonable price. It is a very popular neighborhood of Italian food.

Not bad, but the bread and the sauce of it is much better than the noodles and the toppings. I prefer a 3.5.
