The setting certainly gets you in the mood for a Bavarian feast! This restaurant (translated means Holy Spirit Hospital is one I have passed by as I walked over the bridge but this was the first time I had ventured inside. (The entrance is quite...hard to find. Immediately there is a mood of historic Bavaria, you are greeted by a medieval knight's suit of armour. The lighting is quite low and there was a gentle hubbub which means something is going on but not in a raucous way. The waiters are in traditional Bavarian dress and all were very busy and skilled at manoeuvring around gawping customers as they carried many drinks and plates! this place was highly recommended by the writing department in our hotel. I'm sure it wasn't let down. we came here our first night in the city and sat in a burning storm. we observe how the rain pours from the sky when we saw the window on the river. the restaurant is beautifully decorated in the interior. this is the perfect place for old people and vampire as it is very illuminated. we ordered four white wee together with the pike perch for my wife, which was perfectly cooked, and the house pot for me, the pork in several possibilities. all in all a good meal with an excellent waiting staff. eating here is part of the story!

Great experience in a great atmosphere.... been there several times every year i visit nurnberg during the fairs and it is always pack full ....the service is great even when busy and the food is really great... schweine axe and Klos is my favourite but...i was also surprised by the Carp fish and stunned by a delicious apple strudel... A great dinner with my dad only 2 weeks ago ...even without a reservation in a full house restaurant thanks to the creativity of the guy at the door...you really feel welcome !

We have visited the restaurant without reservation during the Christmas market time in an evening. Seating was easy, most people had their dinner in the market. Service was fast, choice of available dishes was a bit limited. The place is very pleasant, due to the...Christmas decorations, it was the essence of German traditional dining. We chose this restaurant for its location in the center of old Nuremberg. The restaurant is one very large dining hall, which fills up quickly at noon. They serve traditional cuisine. I enjoyed the fresh vegetables just as much as the delicious roast and sauce. We shared the apple strudel and recommend others not to skip dessert.

this place greeted me and gave me the opportunity to occupy a whole table, although I was alone. the waitress was very helpful and friendly. she helped me understand the menu, even if I don't speak German. the fish I ate was fabulous...prepared the atmosphere of the place is really cool. I recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is in an old Hospital. It serves wonderful local Franken/Bavarian meals. The decor and ambience are authentic. The service was quick and friendly. We had the Wedding Soup which is actually Liver Dumpling soup 1st Class.

I've had the worst thing for a long time. the sour roast and was served over boiled hard roast beef with brown gravy with some ready-to-apple taste.

very nice staff that was eating was in order, although in my opinion a little overpriced, would not be repressed except be greeted by the staff.
