Hook Gulf Coast Cuisine

We just recently moved to town. Our realtor told us about this place. Then, we found out that our neighbor is the owner (or one of the owners). We had to check this place out. Upon entering, the atmosphere was warm (on a cold, December night). The staff was friendly. The menu was mostly seafood (I mean, what do you expect? The name, and atmosphere says it all). However, they do have some other items on the menu that were not seafood. Fast forward to the food: As a prior cook, I can tell they take pride in their food. We've been coming here for years and it's quite simply the best. Every Tuesday they have their special fish Tacos and they are unbelievable! Fish is ALWAYS fresh and so is the slaw. I took the late great cookbook writer Julia Reed here and she LOVED these fish tacos! Wednesdays, they have a special on hamburgers, which are perfect. The buns are the best! I especially love their shrimp risotto and carrot cake. And don't forget to order some Thaiger Shrimp for the table to start. Their service is always so nice too the servers are always friendly, smiling and welcoming. If you're on the Coast, you will want to stop here at Hook.

We live in Pass Christian and Hook is our local favorite, and has been since they opened after hurricane Katrina. Owners Tanya McClellan and Corry Hudson have created a welcoming place to enjoy an excellent meal in a comfortable atmosphere with a terrific staff all friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic their delicious seafood pasta, risotto and fresh catch dishes are always delicious, and their weekday specials (Taco Tuesdays and Burger Wednesdays) are a great deal. Also, order the Thai ger Shrimp it will make you happy. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner!

Everything was cooked to perfection!! Husband had a shrimp platter, he said it was absolutely fantastic!! I had seafood pasta, Amazing, the shrimp was cooked perfectly!! The Caesar salad is to die for!! Dressing is made from scratch. I used the Homemade bread to get every drop of that dressing up. Very casual atmosphere, dine in or outside on the patio.

Drove in from Louisiana to meet some old friends at the Pass Cigars shop across the street. Everyone was hungry and didn't feel like driving anymore so figured we'd give this place a shot. The food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly.
