We arrived at the restaurant after 9 a.m. and were pleased to find that they were only preparing delivery orders at that time. We ordered the General Tso's Tofu (recommended by another review), Broccoli in garlic sauce, and Sauteed Baby Bok Choy. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. The broccoli was a bit firm for our preference, but the Bok Choy and brown rice were perfect. Each dish had plenty of sauce. We wanted to order dessert, but the staff informed us that they did not make dessert on site and could not provide ingredient information. This restaurant has many vegetarian options and is probably as close to a vegetarian restaurant as you will find in McAllen. The Veg-General Tso with tofu is super...well done Hop Tung! Knowledgeable and friendly staff will help you with ordering the better/favorite menu items. Try one of the funny bubble teas ...they have a huge menu of these tapioca-pearl smoothies.

Hop Tung has a really impressive selection for vegan/vegetarian customers. Their food is always beautifully made, and their portions are usually quite large. However, I have noticed that the facility is usually low on the staff, which means that the service tends to slow, especially when the traffic is busy.

I adore the Kung Pao Tofu and vegetarian spring rolls at this restaurant! The vegetables are also delicious. The staff is friendly, although it appears that I consistently see the same few individuals. Occasionally, I have to make multiple attempts to reach someone on the phone before getting a response.
