KooKoo Teppanyaki and Lounge Bar

KooKoo was such an entertaining experience and GC Teppanyaki definitely do it better compared to some other Aus states! Our chef was cheeky, funny and entertained from the moment he arrived to the end. He engaged well with the guests and had us all laughing...and chatting. The food was delicious, fresh and very filling! The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Overall, the experience was worth the money and there were great vegetarian options. This spot is situated in the heart of Surfers- but wear cool clothing because the grills get hot as you sit in front of your food being cooked!

Not what we expected. In many Teppanyaki restaurants over the years (Misono one of our favorites) we thought we would try a new place. If you are looking for all the magical experience of a Teppanyaki restaurant, that is not. The cook did some tricks and was literally ready to cook our food in less than 15min. He cooked all the food at once and that was it. I felt honest as if they wanted to get rid of us. Underwhelming is how the experience was.

Excellent food, excellent showmanship and service, great atmosphere that is so much about the experience as it is about food, and both were excellent. If meters of high flames before you are your idea of fun, forget the backyard fire... and go to this place! Very pleasant evening for all ages, all from toddlers to grandparents were entertained and well fed on delicious food that was plentiful and varied.

As you can imagine, the meal was very entertaining with the cook cooking cook before you show off crazy skills and flipping egg on the mouth of people. Children definitely enjoyed it. Price for set menus are fair and the quality of food is decent....Would definitely go back.

Good food reasonable price and cook was really good with his cook, knives and tricks. The staff was very attentive and courtesy it will definitely recommend with friends and family
