Lion's Head Tavern

Trash establishment I Showed up at the Lion's Head Tavern on July 16th 2023 we walked in and began going up to the patio where my family was waiting for us. A man claiming to be the assistant manager stoped my mother and told her “you’re not welcome in the establishment” when asked since when he proceeded to say last weeks. This Past Tuesday she came to the restaurant for a family dinner (they did not book an event just showed up with 15 people) and her among others in the group politely questioned the restaurant charging 18% gratuity to everyone’s bill including kids! It's our first time in the new Lions Head Tavern. It was quite busy when we went, the atmosphere was quite good and clean, the service was pretty good and the food took quite a while and was mediocre. To me the service and the food ratings were attributed to the fact of being busy. I presume that the quality of service and food may be top notch if less busy, but I'm sure to be less busy is not preferable to the business.Overall not too bad with some negative and positive aspects.

The Lion's Head staff were super knowledgeable and clearly explained the precautions they take in the kitchen. They have a dedicated fryer and kitchen space, and told me each dish that came out that was gf to confirm. More than what is marked on the menu is gf (we had wings, burgers, and dessert! . It's a big, family feeling restaurant with lots of space. It was busy but the service was great and fast!

Nice little place up near the North End of Halifax. Met up with friends at this tavern, and they were running specials on beer pints. Got their mozzarella sticks and nachos, both were pretty fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly, courteous and helpful to make suggestions. Place is well kept as well. Strongly recommend!

I’m very sensitive and have eaten here on three different occasions… and three different meals. Delicious and never had any reactions.
