Shilimar Indian Restaurant

We got takeaway from here. Ordered Onion Bhajis, Butter Chicken - normal and spicy, Dal and Biryani. The butter chicken was tasty and was made to order and have to admit the attention to detail was amazing considering the specifications to make butter chicken and the biryani was quite yummy. The food was fantastic. Great service, good size portions and very good food!

All the dishes had a distinct taste which was very good, however the meat, chicken, beef, lamb, was of a poor quality, gave us prawns instead of chicken on one dish, which could have been a problem, but was spotted early so got away with it. Wouldn't go back, but if you need an Indian "fix" it's just OK.

The restaurant is nothing fancy (certainly not beyond the main seating area, but the food and service are great and popular. My favorites are the Vindaloo and the Chicken Tikka starter. Very happy that this is our local.

The chicken madras was too sweet, the sag paneer too creamy and the lamb kadai too full of fenugreek. These seemed to be curries overly-adjusted for what they think the Australian taste is. Give me the real thing please.

I may have just had the best curry of my life so far. I was going to call them, but then I thought I really should make my point public. Get on board.
