Silverfin Traditional Fish Chips

The restaurant, which is an extension of the same fish distributor, serves decent fish but the frying technique is lacking at times. During my visit, I ordered a plaice which was a bit greasy and came battered like a cod, when I would have preferred it in breadcrumbs. The portion of chips was undercooked and soggy. The plaice itself was fresh, but with more careful cooking, it could have been exceptional. Overall, it was an okay dining experience for Newry.

I find it frustrating that our local fish and chip shops charge top prices for such poor quality. Just 20 miles away, I can get high-quality cod and chips, a drink, and sit-in service for a lower price. As a result, I have decided to stop visiting our local fish chip shops and instead frequent the Pit Stop in Kilkeel. It's disappointing that I have to make this choice.

The fresh smoked Cod at this restaurant is amazing - it's freshly battered and the best I've ever had. I always believe that you should dine in at a good fish and chips shop for the freshest experience. The interior is nothing fancy, but the staff is friendly, the food is fantastic, and the portions are generous.

We've been here a number of Tim, and will call in the future. It's over a mile from our house, and well worth the journey. Cod, plaice, smoked cod, can't be beaten anywhere near. But do stay away from the burgers.

Hungry .. tired... dont want to cook?...Nicest fish and chips that i have tried in Newry.. well worth a visit... good value for money
