St George Sailing Club

I've eaten here a couple of times in the past and was unimpressed with the food ,tho' $6 for fish and chips with water views is very cheap! Things have improved,however. Four of us had two seafood platters ,which were very good and huge--- nicely cooked and good value.The club is still a bit plain but pleasant water views.I can't vouch for the rest of the food but would strongly recommend the seafood platters.One plate between two is plenty (we had two platters between four and were hard pressed to finish ).It is only on some nights each week so best to ring and check beforehand.You order at a bistro counter and then waiting service serves and clears... a small not very high quality wine sel...

We recently celebrated my wife's birthday with lose family and friends, we opted for a set menu of $45 p/p, the menu consisted of chorizo, halumi cheese and grilled octopus as an entree, two platters one seafood and one lamb and greek salad. service was magnificent, we were looked after extremely well, the venue was excellent, been in a club we also opted a for a beverage package house wines, beer and soft drinks, the wine was (western Australian) great, best thing is was very drinkable....

A friend suggested this place. I was surprised after 30 years nothing seems to have changed. No one at reception, bar is VERY limited huge area dedicated to a run down TAB (what a waste). So much potential. Owners are probably as tired as the establishment. Give a miss for another 30 years.

Lovely food, staff and views. Greek influence. Loads of families and groups eat there. Over the water. Live music at weekends. Reasonable price. Highly recommended. If you miss a table at the restaurant eat in other sections of the club. It is very popular this place so it pays to book.
