Birthday treat, we'll it was anything but! Tired and scruffy decor and ineffective and poorly trained staff. Tables left dirty and service really slow. When we were in it was quite, yet still took over an hour and a half for 1 course. Food mediocre at best. Our first and last visit.

We were booked in for a soup and sandwich lunch in what may have been the old snooker room, the soup so late arriving I went to the rather bleak bar. The walk down from the main road tricky, the building looked tired and scruffy. It is not central, I am glad I did not stay there.

Poor service and not very good food sums up our experience. Indifference to customers was hallmark of our visit. Clearly, other people have had a very different experience but certainly couldn 't recommend and won 't be returning.

Lovely place and lovely staff but my £50 high tea for two was the most disappointing value for money high teas that I have ever had.(Particularly when those around us were enjoying the half price Itison high tea!!

Underwhelming. Food very average, portion small. Overpriced. Waited for ages for food and drinks. Quality of food has gone down hill over the past years. Not enough staff. Such a shame.
