The Old Queens Head

On my last visit I was told off by the landlady for having my very small dog off the lead at the far end of the garden (nobody else was outside either, only me… There were no signs up stating that dogs weren’t allowed off lead and many small tennis balls in the garden which would make you assume it’s ok. Funny thing is on my last 6 visits there was absolutely no problem, must have caught her on a bad day considering she told me off again for resting my glass on a paving slab at the far end of the garden… (again only me out there Won’t be back I’ll stick to the White Hart from now on… No drama’s there!

I live in Nottingham and would happily drive the three hours to dine on one of Anna’s home made pies! Fortunately I have family who live a short walk from this pub and it’s a given that whenever I visit a trip or two here is always on the cards. Such an amazing team, the food is fantastic and really nothing is too much trouble. Anna, I will be back soon, in the meantime don’t let my brother eat all the pies, save one for me xxx

the queen is a beautiful place to eat / get drinks, everyone who works there goes out of the way to give them a good evening. eating is excellent and they can even see that the cooks prepare it. I recommend the queens to everyone and I hope that helped.

as an old hotel, the queens is one of the great london pubs dominated by a large wooden central bar, high elaborate ceilings and stained glass. the bar and the half-formal dining room are usually busy, warm and loud. The menu is hearty and reliable.

We had a great Christmas meal at this restaurant. The food was plentiful, well-cooked, and the service was good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
