Tomatillo Taco Joint

0/5 Stars. I had placed an order for tacos with the vegetarian option. For reference, the menu is laid out with 4 initial stages. Stage 1. Build it: Corn tacos, i asked for Step 2. Fill it: Vegetarian, which has listed beneath it Guacamole, Rice and Beans !!! Step 3. Stuff it: Rice Fajita veggie please, I asked for kindly. Step 4. Top it: Pico de gallo, salsa verde and Pickled jalapeños Side Of Red Onion. What do they give me, you ask? PLAIN CORN tortillas with Jalapeños, Grilled Onion, and tomatoes. No Rice. No bean. This was our first time ordering from this restaurant and we were disappointed. The burritos were bland and lacked meat. The Zilantrocal Circle lacked flavor and we couldn't taste the cilantro or lime. The guacamole was tasty until we found a piece of skin (with stickers) in it. We paid over $6 for the guacamole and chips, but there were barely enough chips for one person. There are many other great taco restaurants in New Haven. I suggest skipping this place.

I had the queso at this restaurant and found it to be cold, overly salty, and artificial-tasting. The portion size of the cheese was small and the chips served with it were also very small. I thought it was too expensive for the quality of the dish, and it tasted worse than something you would find in a can.

These burritos are fantastic, much better than Chipotle! They have a great balance of flavors and are very fresh. My only wish is that they would accept phone orders.

Great customer service and delicious Burritos. Owners are really good people. I was a stranger who had a hard day and filled my heart and belly.
