West End Cider House

We were in the area and that was our second stop of the day. When we came in, we were greeted by a bartender who introduced us. His name is Lou, he was pretty sincere, very nice. We sat down and he delivered what was available as we set ourselves and checked the menu. We both went with a cedar flight. I enjoyed them all, but the bourbon and blackberry were my favorites. But Blackberry hands down was the best for me. It wasn't a sweet cedar as you could expect. Lou came back to us and asked if we like hot and spicy, and we both looked at us and said yes. The three of us dared the West End Cider House because one of us has lived in Athens for some time. Do not know if we had found it without “local” knowledge about the location and the fine bar that it is. Especially drinks, some food, lots of creativity, limited students, really by themselves in a quiet part of the city, “normal” tables and chairs, a decent bar, and even ordinary couches and soft chairs. How cool is that? The menu shows the creativity of the owners regarding a variety of alcoholic lemons, beer and cocktails. There are so many great things to say about Ciderhouse. Although perhaps not the most important thing to mention, I will say that their pimples are delicious, and I am glad to get more soon. The bartenders are friendly and helpful when asked for recommendations or questions about the menu, and their cocktails show how talented they are. Ciderhouse is also a great rest from the rest of the Athenian nightlife and offers a relaxed and quiet environment to sit with many comfortable places. Can't wait to go back!

Jan and I lived in the UK where she gained an appreciation for the excellent ciders. Then we came to Athens OH and we’re referred to this most beautiful pet of Ohio. And we found the home of Johnny Appleseed.
