"After our hike from the Concordia Tower along the Lahnhöhenwanderweg we returned via the Bad Ems to the Bismarcks restaurant directly on the same tower. This was built in honor of the 1st German Chancellor Prince Otto von Bismarck and inaugurated in the spring of 1901. The Kurwaldbahn, which connects the city with the large spa areas, clinics and rehabilitation facilities above Bad Ems, also ends/starts. The Bismarcks is a beautiful excursion to the mountains, high above the state bath Bad Ems, has a large sun terrace, from where you have a fantastic view of Bad Ems, the Lahntal and the surrounding mountains. On this sunny but windy autumn day we liked to sit on one of the few still free tables on the terrace and enjoyed the great view that offered us. Beautiful wooden furniture with comfortable seat cushions outside the terrace and a modern interior with alpine character was very popular. There is a wide selection of breakfasts, civic cuisine at noon and evening, in addition a changing daily menu, coffee/tea and cake as well as ice cups and a vasper card for everyone. Since we had already enjoyed a lush breakfast and had expected a 4 standard menu in the evening, we only ordered apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, which was decorated on a dark grey slate plate with fresh berries, both delicious with milk coffee. Unfortunately, we had to wait very long for our apple strudel, otherwise the service personnel looked overwhelmed after us. Too bad about the otherwise pretty destination. We then approached home with the funicular and floated exhausted from the hike, but enthusiastic about the apple strudel eat the valley."

"Foreword: The taste is different – fortunately for the different culinary directions. But taste must not be confused with false language use, handmade mistakes or weak ingredients. On the occasion of a small tour to Lahn in beautiful weather and sunshine I had decided to eat in Bad Ems. Large sun terrace and contradictory reviews came to my mind, and so I ended up “on the Wipsch” thanks to Navi and even found a parking lot. I did not find a sun terrace, but probably a large terrace, up to 2 tables in the shade in the afternoon. All right, in the room. No service in sight, some tables occupied, I take the last two tables. A counter left before 2 wine barrels redesigned to tables, the remaining tables on the spacious window front running around the corner. The flower friend is looking forward to a lot of green on the window benches, especially many orchids. Your leaves unfortunately have the bad habit of attracting dust magically. Resopal or other plastic plates form the table surfaces, pepper and salt on a table top in the middle of the table, together with a flower pot and a curved glass with bottom filling made of glitter stones, probably as a light source (with optional tea light). A service, female, in normal clothes (Chefin ? , serves other tables and “three” with pervading voice on my table several times. Then it's done and she takes the card and she wants to know what I drink. Njet, I'm new here and need a look at the map. Very clear, German food offer, many carvings, a special page „Steakwochen im February?“, no daily dishes (but I look outside on the advertising space, drink back. She comes back and asks for my wishes. For my express request, she calls the daily court. Is not mine today, I had German frying potatoes in the German restaurant, unfortunately in conjunction with a pig-back steak, but with onions and salad plate (11.50 €). The main food came with a great onion smell. The onions looked good. And as they looked, they also tasted. Unfortunately, this is already the end of the positive messages, because the most anticipated b r a t kartoffeln apparently were not in the b r a t pfanne ge b r a t e n, but probably were caught in the frituse, the bacon cubes and some smaller onion elements were hard to burn wherever they came from. The steak was big, but had no good meat taste (before watery, was very cheesy, inside rather dry, how often with pig back, and overall hard. Conclusion: It is not the gourmet temple, as some have probably wanted it (other types of things, but actually it was a poorest food experience since I wrote in RK. And that the service does not indicate that you are in the smoking area, in my eyes is an extremely weak service."
