"The third stage on the vinegar led us from Leiwen to Piesport or via Piesport to the vineyard. The Hotel Moselpanorama is located directly on the Moselle Valley and offers an incredible view over the Moselle loop. Rooms, terrace and restaurant offer magnificent views over the vineyards and over the Moselle. My wife and I have a room with a balcony to the vineyard and the Moselle and corresponding views. This was so beautiful in the sunlight that we took the walking shoes away, brought a large cool pilgrim from below and enjoyed life on the balcony for an hour. Almost 25 km up and down! From the third ascent of each stage, the Moselsteig makes every step and every kilo in the touring backpack......... But the ascent to the Moselpanorama was rewarded, as already mentioned. We were hungry and went to the restaurant to eat. The hostess had served us a table right at the window, see my photo where we were allowed to enjoy the Mosel view during the meal. The map showed a local cuisine. No further experiments from different regions of our world, we had this for two days. The wines come from the husband or family wine from Piesport. On the wine map a dry Riesling Spätlese Piesporter Gold droplets from the winery Josef seibel jr./Piesport immediately attracted my interest. I like old mature giants... fortunately my wife too. Only our host was very uncertain about our choice. Whether we really want this to be a wine that is very rare. We had already noticed that the local taste went rather towards young, light, fruit sweetness or half-dry.... what the German pensioner likes to drink on his bus trip to Moseltal. We didn't let us go and found our presumption confirmed! A mature, sustainable Riesling with a very mineral note and an acid still very present. A good wine. We both ordered a French onion soup on our way. The soup was good. The cheese covered crusty, dehydrated pieces of bread. Among them a very thick, almost one-pot-like soup. A slightly sweet aroma, with a good base bouillion. You could see that. The main course for my wife was a goulash with parsley potatoes and vegetables. A delicately swollen goulash with peppers was served that Gulasch had no reason to complain. Neither the supplements. I ordered a Bratbeef from the map. Nature, with herbal butter, accompanied by Pommes Frittes and a salad. I had ordered medium, the Roastbeef was a little over it, but was still tolerable. The frits fresh, the salad too. My main course was also a decent work of the kitchen. After that, the hiker can drink without a bad conscience and refill his depot, further delicious crêpes. Served with vanilla ice cream, hot cherries and cream a good conclusion of dinner. The ambience is a typical farmhouse, sufficiently cozy. The service worked well and had no complaints. It was quiet in the evening and we sat more with Father (Koch) and daughter (Service) and sounded over wines, the location of the hotel and Moselsteig.... Conclusion: A cozy evening in a farm that makes good what he can and does not want to be more than he is! So you can turn in good conscience. Recommendation for a return. Enjoy the magnificent view of the Moselle Valley alone."
