"We went at the end of november, and we weren't sure if in winter this place would be comfortable enough. The location is really beautiful, you wouldn't expect it in Pontearreas. The service was very nice, the owner very polite and attentive and the chef very friendly. The place was quiet, at first no one and then a few couples arrived. We had lunch upstairs, because outside it was closed, all wet and damp. They turned on a heater right away, so it soon got warm enough. They had two high chairs for our kids ready right away (don't expect this in galicia ! and the coffee was quite good comparing to what you can find in Spain!!! The food was decently priced, same as anywhere else in galicia, and the portions were decent. We had soup, bacalao and ternera, all tasty, decent size.. They charged us for the bread (many places do . We ordered 3 soups and we got a huge bowl of soup enough for 8 people, we couldn't finish it. Ternera was 10 euro, bacalao 14 euro, soup 5 ewuro/ Dessert was huge, 3 euro each. I wouldn't say that the restaurant is anything special comparing to pther places in Galicia, but it's good quality and nice atmosphere, worth going to if you are in the region; if you're visiting the mondariz castle or balneario for example. We felt comfortable there with the kids, because they have a lot of green space around the house, and further back they even have hens and ducks running aroudn freely. They have some swings too (a it old, but fine to use , and the green area is very clean and well kept, you can walk around with the kids and it's quiet and pleasant, the air very fresh, there is a river nearby. The owner has a little garden with pepper tomatoes eggplant...it's nice for the kids to see all that. We were 5 people and we paid 60 euro. The menu is galician style, fish, meat, mussels, cod, clams, shrimps, veal, pork...gallego style. It's worth going all the way there for the nice setting, that makes it different from other places in Galicia, and I imagine it's even nicer in the summer. I don't think the inside would be accesible for people with little mobility, because they have these narrow spiral staircases, which were difficult even for us with the kids, charming through."
