"Our first Mosquito flight for 2022 led us first to Traben Trarbach. Surprisingly, the gastronomy was still mostly in winter sleep. In many companies you start from 01.03. This was not known to us, but was not bad either. It was allowed to be a bite for bridging before dinner! But even the Asian snack was still in the self-imposed lockdown. We strolled further through the pedestrian zone and see here: Storcke support is back! Cellular entrance In the cozy cellar vault, we have been guests twice in the past few years. My previous posts have now been deleted by the new opening. Already on 17.01.2020 the restaurant opened under new leadership. Due to the corona-related forced interruptions, the new opening had actually escaped us. We hoped for a free table when the restaurant arrived and waited in the entrance. There was only one lady in the service. She signaled us to have seen. After she had supplied the guests, she was with us. We were lucky and a table was free for us. Since our first visit in 2015, the atmosphere has changed as well as nothing. . The menu was served and we were allowed to browse first. Little later, the serviceman was back. Your resolute kindness was very suitable here and pleasant for us. We ordered: Rock spring mineral water, 0.75 l 4.90 2 Grauburgunder dry, winery Caspari 0.2 l 4.90 We were expressly recommended the homemade fresh chips per € 3.50, so we ordered 2 portions. I ordered: Great winter salad: various leaf salads with oranges, dates, caramelized walnuts, gratinated goat cheese and honey € 19,80. My husband chose one of the day's recommendations: giant cloves with salad, garlic dip and baguette € 19,80. At this time, my husband should give up light bread and sweets. It was carefully offered to serve the salad a little bigger instead of the baguette. Waiting time was a little longer. Due to the numerous guests, however, absolutely apologisable. If I've seen it right, the kitchen blew 2 people. We got a snap breath when serving the hot chips! They looked and tasted perfectly and wonderfully crispy. But we really didn't expect the lush portion. One! of the two chip portions in the large deep pasta plate 1 portion for both of us would have been absolutely sufficient. Immediately the salads were also served as desired for the chips. And also these convinced absolutely. The portion sizes were more than just the expected main dish. The colourful salad for my husband was rounded with large and juicy fried shrimps. Salad with shrimp The fine dressing as well as the garlic dip (in which the chips could be tuned instead of bread). In my taste also my big salad plate. On top fresh sprouts, harmoniously the combination of salad and fruit. Pomegranate seeds were also found. Salad with goat cheese and fruit The goat cheese is aromatic and creamy. The baguette for salad simple baked goods. The chips were therefore not a mistake as an untypical supplement. The serviceman was attentively inquired by our satisfaction. We liked these. We slept and crispy and cheerful through the sermon. And rightly, we thought whether we would have appetite until dinner again! Unfortunately, we didn't complete the chips. The restaurant is not accessible to disabled persons. The path to the older but very well maintained toilets is quite angled and leads over some steps. Payment is possible only cash (cellar radio hole). This is already indicated in the input region. Good for the traditional house and the nice team!"

"Holiday and beautiful weather, spontaneously decided to make a short trip to the Moselle. My husband had such an idea... The destination was the ruin of Grevenburg, located above Traben Trarbach. Steil leads a narrow road to the castle ruin, at the castle ruin there are free parking. The castle was built in 1350 and destroyed in 1734. Today the well maintained castle ruins can be visited free of charge. Gastronomy is located in a beautiful stone house. But in this great weather, of course, the guests all sat outside in the Burghof, here are sunny and shaded places to find. In the Burghof But also inside it is really nice. We chose the place on the sun, a young helper brought us the map. We weren't very hungry, but a little thing was allowed to be. Defige Hausmannskost is offered for migrants and hungry hikers. A nice small selection of goulash soup, various sandwiches, skewer... Cake is also offered. We ordered 2 dry Rieslingschorlen, 0.2 l € 2.80. These were served shortly after. sausage “Wiener Art” with potato salad € 8.50, my husband had appetite for it. I was skeptical, suspected the salad from the bucket. We asked. No, the potato salad is homemade! So my husband ordered the court. I asked if I could get a portion of potato salad with bread. No problem – fair € 4,00 were charged for this. In the meantime, the head of the house came by to see the guests. A nice chat was still in there. Everything wonderfully relaxed. Our lunch was again served by the young employee. The potato salad was absolutely convinced, although made with Mayonaise (I prefer vinegar/oil), but not beat. Well decorated, small pieces of vinegar underneath and decorated with spring onion. The sausages tender, the peasant bread fresh. That's exactly how we hoped. No more and no less a high on a good potato salad! "The Mosel Wein Nachts market attracted us to the Mosel after Christmas. To the Trabener Mosel side. Open until New Year's Eve, we just managed to visit this fantastic vaulted Christmas market for the first time! Distributed to 4 cellars – look at him at Christmas time in 2018! On the Moslufer parked on the Trarbach side, we discovered the new café “Haus am Stadtturm” which opened on December 1st. . Best coffee time, so we started our trip right here. Despite early temperaments, a fire burned in the oven. Everything new and renovated with mind, pleasant lighting. A cozy modern interior, old components, such as the elaborate ceiling panelling and the swivel door to the guest room remained and were restored. In a conversation at the side table we learned that the ceiling panelling was earlier disassembled with near flooding. . . Two friendly ladies were responsible for the service, the café was already well visited. It seemed that many Mosellaners also find a new meeting place here. We chose a small table at the oven with very comfortable armchairs. On the slate table I discovered the vegetarian potato soup € 5,50 (there is the soup also with sausage). From the nostalgic map (among other things there was also a small selection of hearty dishes) I chose a dry coat from the winery Franz € 3,70 0.2l. My husband took the cakes and cake potters under the magnifying glass and chose the chocolate egg liqueurs € 3.50. A cup of coffee € 2.60. Moselriesling Steaming hot I got the potato soup. A very deep soup bowl and thus a huge portion. Vegetarian potato soup The potato soup was perfectly prepared according to “housewife type” and really well tasted. The wine was perfect (in the winery Franz we were later still in the wine at night vault, but did not find any space anymore). There were 2 slices of fresh peasant bread for the soup. I was pappy, the soup warmed from the inside, the oven behind me the back. I changed to the place. My husband was more than done by his cake. It was really fresh with airy bisquit floor, also the cream fillings airy fine. Great taste, I tried! Chocolate egg liqueur with jelly seed The question of whether everything tastes was not missing shortly after serving. And in the numbers there was a nice conversation about the history of the house. The house also includes a “Fifties Bar”, apartments “Alte Schmiede” and the “Zeitreise Museum”. We will also visit the museum occasionally. The toilets are flattering and brand new. Of course, no objections. We like to come back!"
