1200 Chophouse - Reservar uma mesa

When one thinks of dining on the Pinellas beaches, juicy steaks aren't often the first menu items that spring to mind in an area rich with grouper sandwiches, fried shrimp, burgers and conch fritters. Overlooking 1200° Chophouse on St. Pete Beach, however, would be a mistake. This small, carnivorous den of inequity is casually appointed with cowhide-print walls and utilitarian wooden chairs, tables and bar stools built to withstand the restaurant's heavy rotation of hungry locals and tourons. With seating available for only approximately 40-50 people at the bar, indoor and outdoor tables combined, go early or be prepared to wait as reservations are not accepted here.

This is a small and very popular steakhouse (there are often people waiting to be seated). The steaks (we tried the rib eye) are above average and the available sauces (e.g., bernaise, blue cheese) are very good. The fries with Gouda sauce were good. The wedge salad was ok. Service was above average. We tried a few sides: We did not enjoy the sautéed spinach and found the broccoli to be ok. Mashed potatoes were also ok.

Really great place with fantastic service! The filet in all its glorious flavor and tenderness was unbelievable! Perfectly paired with mashed potatoes. Salad was amazing as well! The boat of Gorgonzola sauce was very rich and not totally up my alley but still very good.

What a find! Have been vacationing at St Pete beach for 4 years now and finally have a great restaurant to enjoy. Service was great, food was excellent. Will be a staple for our visits here from now on.

We absolutely loved it here. On a guess ended up here the first evening of our holiday and was pleasantly surprised. Great food and service!
