as a person with a deep passion for eating, it is not surprising that I develop serious breaks on eating and restaurants from time to time. the reason why I called it as a smashing is because I was a teenager and had crushed someone, I constantly thought of this person and I always wanted to be close to him, even if he didn't know I was there. Pig in a Fur Coat....a fine fur coat it is.. Located on the previously slow section of Williamson Ave we decided to give the Pig a try while in Madison. It had recently reopened from remodeling and the timing was perfect. We stepped into the renovated space and were greeted by the Pig, looking suspiciously like Rembrandt, but with a porcine snoot. The space was well appointed, wall seating with tables, and a large raised central community table, European style with an industrial flair. an excellent culinary experience. we started with cocktails while we waited for a table. btw now accepts reservations (this is a recent change). after a well-made negroni we sat. service was timely, helpful and attentive. for appetizers we ordered the lamb carpaccio and the foie gras mousse. the lamb carpaccio comes with an egg yolk, maize shoot (a bit awkward to eat because they are so long), advised parmigiana and a salsa verde. very tasty, but the salsa verde dominated the dish, as it slightly exaggerated the taste of the lamb. the foie gras mousse was sublime. spliced foie grass served on warm bombolini and lardo, with cowardly jam and spicy balsam it was a...read more

This is a very special place with unique food and drinks. They feature shareables in smaller and larger portions, including some amazing pasta dishes. Our favorite was the Yolk filled Raviolo one very large ravioli which we had topped with sauteed morel mushrooms. It was amazing. The gnocchi was also quite good. The chitarra says it has calamari on it, and it probably does, but just a small amount. For the larger plates, the jerk rabbit has a striking jerk flavor, and the bison short ribs melt in your mouth. what a disappointment, apart from the ravioli. this is an unusual modern place. You can't book and it was full, so obviously the people love it. but what a shame. deceptive scandal. no single American weeping on the weeping list. excellent eating. the meatballs, ravioli and veranda. the taste was on point with everything. it is a small restaurant and they are cozy with their roommates. unique cocktails but not the best aspekt des ortes. the service was perfect, he knew most of all about the preparation and ingredients to know. we're coming back!

Wonderful, exciting, and interesting spot. It's not cheap, and the portions aren't big, but everything is delicious, and well thought out. Seasonal menu? How about a daily menu! Great taste, good drinks from the bar, and wonderful staff. The gnocchi was probably the best I've ever had!
