Acquario has been in the city centre of Essen-Steele for over years. It gets really busy at the weekends and service can, because of this, be a little slower. BUT please don't let that put you off imagine yourself in a mediterranean setting,...let life takes its natural course, enjoy the really great food and wine, take it slow with friends and family and spend a few delightful hours with the Italians. But please don't let them imagine themselves in a Mediterranean environment...that lives takes its natural cures, enjoy the really great food and wee, take it slowly with friends and family and spend a few delightful hours with the Italians. ristorante acquario has been in the center of food site for many years. I was private several times with my family and also with sports club members. the meal is good at all. but I have chosen to lasagne twice in the last month and I am so sorry, but both of them were the worst that I have ever eaten. the incredible proportion of cheese made only a large and viscous mass. other meals like pizza are good. the restaurant has too many tables, so it is very narrow. the staff is very friendly and they serve the meal very fast (microwave)

Ristorante Acquario is in the center of Essen-Stelle since a lot of years. I have been there several times private with my family and also with sportclub members. The meal is good at all. But I chose Lasagne twice in the last month ..and I'm so sorry, but both times was this Lasagne the worst I ever ate. The unbelievable portion of cheese made only a big and viscose mass. In a city where there are more Italian restaurants than German ones, Acquario stands out among the crowd. Every thing was first rate - the food, the service and the wine card. I was especially impressed with the house made pasta with truffle sauce.
