Alaia - Reservar uma mesa

A standard bar. The staff are efficient but a bit on the moderate side compared to the friendly characters you tend to come across in this part of Donostia. There is a small terraza and some seating inside. The ambiance is pleasant but nothing special. Come for a quick drink but don't plan on having pintxos here as it's a rather disappointing, lack of lustre, small selection compared to every other bar on the street and across town. That said, you can order a bocata with any of a number of fillings and these look quite tasty (although, again, more appetite farewells can certainly be found elsewhere). It's closed on Sunday.

Standard bar but they excel for sure in one area: their tortilla which is probably the best in town. Extremely moist to the point where it almost falls apart and the egg still runny. Stop in for a tortilla and cider. Enjoy it. Then move...on with your day.

Very busy, heaving with people eating tapas and wine, lucky to get a seat so not too late at lunchtime lots of atmosphere. T Delmation
