Albergo Colmanicchio

If you want to enjoy a great view, both in summer and in winter, be sure to stop by at the Colmanicchio in Cardada, just a cable car ride away from Locarno (Orselina). But this cozy and welcoming restaurant has a lot more to offer: a very nice atmosphere, very good food (despite the not so huge selection) and especially great hospitality skills, grazie Susana and the team to having make us feel like at home. Plan to stay a bit long and enjoy your meal, this is not fast food, but all good things come to those who wait and it 's worth it, maybe take a salad to share as the waitress kindly suggested to us, and a good red wine or an apero, then you 'll enjoy your stay even more. This was our second visit to the Locarno area for the Christmas Holidays. We remembered our previous visit to Cardada, when had lunch at The Colmanicchio which was a perfect, so we decided to book for our Christmas Day lunch this year. We were not disappointed! The weather was perfect so the amazing view across the lake was crystal clear. The set menu included fish soup with banana and red pepper an unusual combination that was delicious. This was followed by salad, beef fillet and tiramisu all of which were excellent. Many thanks Alex and Regina and your team, we had a very special day to remember.

We had lunch in this wonderful restaurant: All of our dishes were superb (especially the homemade pasta with pesto sauce) and of outstanding quality. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and charming. They have a wonderful rose garden and all of the plates are served with great attention to detail. We can highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly revisit soon!

We were exploring and hiking around Mount Cardada and found this guesthouse and restaurant on about 1300m above sea level. We decided to have a late lunch/early dinner there and experienced a welcoming and positive-minded service and the food was excellent, taking into account that you are on a hill/mountaineous area.

Cute restaurant on a mountain overlooking Locarno and the Lago Maggiore (on a clear day you can even see Monte Rosa Dufourspitze, the highest mountain of Switzerland). Food is super yummy, the hosts and the waiters love their job and give a lot of attention to details, and even the dog is super happy.
