Allports Fish Chips

Very poor fish and chips here, we had the small fish and chips, priced at £7.95 it is not cheap, especially as the portion size that came out was tiny, very few chips and a very small piece of fish. The batter was greasy and the chips were cold and tasted as though they had been sat out for a while. The worst part though was we got back to eat our food only to realise that there was salt and vinegar on them, despite us making it very clear that we didn’t want any. This is especially worrying for anyone that may have allergies.

Food is actually nice, however I ordered a fish butty and chips as a meal, and fish and chips. The difference in size of each fish is robbery. The fish butty fish is purposefully a small fish ”so it fits” while the fish and chips fish is regular size. Be careful you are aware of what you are ordering here, we drove away to the lake to eat them, and as you would imagine we’re annoyed at a fish that only filled half of a Bread cake.

Good service, and spacious interior, but the quality of food and pricing let 's it down. The chips in particular are frozen, crispy and flavourless. The large portion is barely big enough for one person. Don 't even get me started on the 'scallops '..... And the prices, similar to everywhere else, are becoming not worth it.

We had a lovely takeaway after a long walk. The batter on my sausage was perfectly crispy and fresh. The chips were lovely too! All topped of with some yummy curry sauce!

Very friendly staff and amazing tasting food, especially the chips (and tea! .
