This is part of the Bellerive Yacht Club, and perhaps is a little known dining venue. It is not open every day, so make sure you phone and find out when it is open before heading there. We had lunch, and it was very good. The service was really efficient and also very friendly. All four of us enjoyed our meal, but mine was particularly good. I often have a salmon fillet when dining out. I have never been disappointed, but this was possibly the best salmon I have ever had. Having such a magnificent location, this is a popular venue for special events. The first two times I attended functions here they were very large groups with set menus, so I didn't really feel I could write a review, but today I came for lunch (again with a group of friends) and was just wowed with the quality of food and efficiency of service. I chose entrée size pork belly which itself was lovely but the salad, dressing, potatoes and gravy it was served on were all equally outstanding. A large site, suitable for functions - I hear they are very good. We went in for lunch on a freezing winter day and received a warm welcome and very competent service. We decided to sit in the warm sunny floor to ceiling windowed area with the best view of the snow covered Mt Wellington and the sunny Bellerive marina area - such an interesting view, which not only included the yachts, but a working yacht service area - fascinating!. Wine list very good, with Tasmanian wine at very reasonable cost.Lunch included an entrée taste plate, which was so good I had one of the entrees as 'lunch'. A group of 10 went to the club for lunch. It was very disappointing, we all had fish and even though the fish was tasty, for $29 I would have thought we would get more than a smear of watery mash potato. The potion of fish was medium to small in size and to have any other vegetables was an extra cost. Desert was pitiful a choice of two which seemed to come straight from a packet with cream out of a spray can. Would not recommend it for a place to go and eat but the views are lovely if you just want coffee.
