Ann's Congee - Reservar uma mesa

My family and I have regularly gone to Congee Wong at Promenade. We order the same items on most of our visits! I wanted to take my parents somewhere different around the area, so I hopped onto the internet and googled Chinese Food Thornhill , and Ann 's Congee was one of the restaurants that popped up with a raiting of 4.6! When it is not high end Chinese food, I find the ratings are relatively not accurate and most often low Congee Wong is pretty low but it 's decent for the area! So when i saw 4.6, i knew we HAD to try it at least esp based on the reviews alone and the comments! We went inside, and it 's a small restaurant with four tables it 's definitely geared towards take out orders....

The location is small with only 3 4 small tables. Luckily we were able to get a table of 3 my wife, my co worker and I for lunch on a weekday. We saw lots of people coming in for lunch take out. They do dinner delivery as well as they have a dinner delivery driver. Lunch delivery is only prior to 11 am as they don't have a lunch time delivery person so the chef is the lunch time delivery driver and needs to be back at restaurant in time for opening and lunch rush. We had fish with preserved egg congee large sized which was enough for at least 12 bowls. It was tasty and had lots of stuff so that it was a good value and not just the cheaper ingredients of rice and water. We also got the Canton...

Food portions are super generous, each dish we ordered was very homey and delicious! The server was very kind and provided helpful recommendations. Can't compare the high quality and the exceptional taste with common Chinese franchise restaurants like Congee Wong or Congee Queen. Two thumbs up!

Small mom and pop shop version of congee queen but better flavoured, less greasy and friendlier service. Not much space for sit in dining but take out is also available. They also encourage you to bring your container(s) for takeout as well. Brilliant idea and good for the environment!

Husband and I have our favourite Chinese haunts all over this city. Downtown. Scarborough.... We are so happy to have this level of cuisine right in our own backyard. Check this place out for your takeout next time. You won't be disappointed!!!
