...I wanted to introduce you to some of my favourite restaurants in the area. One of them is Ariana in Mile End, a little gem that I discovered way too late after living nearby for six years. It’s situated near Mile End Park and is easily within walking distance from the tube station. It serves Iranian and Afghan food. The exterior is unimpressive, in fact I am convinced the neon sign above the door actually deterred me from visiting it earlier, but the interior is nicer. But once you step inside you have to be taken back into a different world. The first object that grabbed my attention is a stone oven, where the waiters will bake your homemade tandori bread. We ordered a Persian...read mor...

Chelow KebabEKubedeh: 8.50 | Just a quick note, I'm unsure about the price. I think it was 8.50 but a little hazy. Anyway on with my thoughts. When I went there, it was empty as they had just opened the restaurant. First thing you notice is the beautiful decor. I absolutely loved it! Also as stated in many reviews, you get to watch fresh bread being made in what seemed to me a tandoor. All the waiters were friendly and welcoming too. So after I sat down, I was given the menu and the meal I got stood out to me the most. The meal consisted of two skewers of charcoal grilled lamb served with saffron steamed basmati rice and grilled tomato and salad. Presentation wise, it was great....read more

baked aubergines with tomatoes and egg GBP 4.50 – I think the aubergines were slightly burnt rather than charcoaled. But otherwise, was a nice warm dip with the bread.houmous GBP 3.95 – good texture with little chuncky bits but lacks seasoning and the punch of garlic.bread GBP 1.50 – eat while it is warm because it gets crispy when it is cooled.mantoo GBP 8.95 – wheat flour stuffed with minced lamb and onions, served with yoghurt, dry mint and meat sauce. The pasta was light and not cloying on the teeth. Stuffed with generous filling of meat and sauce, it was my favourite.portions of marinated whole poussin, charcoal grilled, served with saffron steamed basmati rice and...read more

we were in the Shisha lounge on the back, they also have a small restaurant on the front. we tried the shammi kebab, hummus with brot, and meeresbass, beside minze tee and apfel and minze shischa. the brot was beautiful and I think it was freshly cooked in a fire oven. looks like a normal place, along the back of the mile end road. it was very busy for a weekday evening! cool little place to check. they have a shisha and minze tee): shisha was only 11, but eating was nothing special. eating is okay and in portions are decent. we tried panir and aubergine for appetizers and okra for the net together with a crippled teig. panir was disappointing (salad with Feta cheese). brote were warm and delicious. aubergine was good and also loved tge saffronrei. the ambiente was good, not well illuminated and tables were sticky. cost are 15 s.

Really good recommendation from Mark. Loved the look and feel of the place and it would be great to come back in the summer and sit out in the garden with a mint tea and a shisha. Great range of dishes, I'd like to try their grilled meat and fish dishes. Very reasonably priced and the fact that it's BYO makes it great value for money.

Great restaurant with authentic Afghan and Iranian food at its best. Can get a little too busy (with resulting slow service) on Fridays and Saturdays though. Otherwise very attentive staff and very reasonably priced tasty food: much better than more expensive options in West London.

this place is a thief, overloaded under quality restaurant. the server are as thick as everything to understand what we should order, what I should mention is a lot mixed. avoid spending their money elsewhere. Reserve uma mesa agora

I had high expectations at this place, but eating was pale and tasteless. it was a waste of money as we unfortunately throw away most food. the lamb and rice had a funny smell. it was not pleasant at all.
