At The Bathurst Arms

Just needed to get away from the day to day and chill. Stumbled across the Bathurst Arms with a lucky google search. First impression, ‘wow,’ it’s big baby pink character rich building. Fair to say from the moment we walked through the door until the time we left, we had nothing other than an amazing time. Special thanks to Jasmine and every member of the team who all went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant and stress free as possible. Very inventive menu with tapas style dishes. Unfortunately not every dish hit the mark but the ones that did were delicious and all dishes were presented beautifully. The fish dishes such as the Gilt-Head Bream was cooked brilliantly but the meat dishes probably need a bit more seasoning and more depth of flavour to make them something more memorable. The menu has really good ideas and flavour combinations, probably just needs a bit of tweaking on the cooking. Very nice outside garden space by the river and tipi tent for outdoor dinning and drinks. They don't have heaters but they do offer thick blankets for the colder evenings. We stayed for two nights when attending a wedding near by, our bedrooms were lovely, very comfortable beds. Dinner was absolutely delicious and both mornings our breakfast was very tasty! Most importantly Simon and the team were incredibly welcoming and friendly… they made our stay!
