Unless you are coming by canal boat, it takes a little doing to get here. I don't think we would want to be on the back roads at night. But for a luncheon destination, if you are looking for a nice meal, it is a worthy destination. The menus are fairly priced, well prepared and served by a young wait staff that is friendly, earnest, but a bit distracted. There is a decent wine list, not overpriced and a fairly good array of choices for each course. The foie gras terrine was far from the best we have ever had, but ok. Our main course and desserts were more to our liking. When the weather gets a little warmer, it would be nice to dine outside. The dining room is comfortable otherwise. We don't...
We had high hopes of this place from previous reviews. The setting is lovely and the staff were attentive but the food was not of the quality we expected. I had to send my lamb back as it was basically gristle. They replaced the rack but it was surprising the first portion was served at all. The pudding was dry and pretty tasteless. I think this place has been good but there was a lack of finesse to the food and we didn’t think it worth the Michelin rating. On the plus side it wasn’t as expensive as we had anticipated with a 5 course menu at 55 euros including half a lobster- so I’d say a decent meal but nothing exceptional.
We stumbled across this delightful restaurant utterly by chance! There is an a la carte menu plus a number of special priced set menu choices. The wine and cocktail list is extensive. The service is friendly, and the staff are extremely helpful with wine choices. We stuck to fish and prawns which were both beautifully presented and very delicious. I had the grand marnier soufflé for dessert and it was a delight. My husband's dessert was also very good. We found the restaurant to be very good value for the service, quality and quantity of food. I would definitely return if I am ever in this area again!
Dinner for a party of 4 olives and rillettes/Tartare de magret as amuse bouches Entrees foie gras or Salmon mi cuit Mains Daurade, Pork tenderloin, supreme de volailles with morels and risotto All meals we deemed very good. the cheese chariot was excellent with 6 selections from a dozen or more offerings. Grand Marnier souffle was imprressive. Service was excellent.
