It is not a good idea to be out in the French countryside on a Sunday without a luncheon reservation. More than half the restaurants are closed, and those that are open and desirable are often fully booked. After stopping by two attractive ones close to opening time, whose parking lots were nearly empty, but complet , on the fly I turned to La Fourchette and secured a reservation here, but with some trepidation. The concern proved to be prescient. Nice people, nice atmosphere, but a combination of under staffing, competent, but not particularly inspired cooking and being seated next to a very large and boisterous birthday celebration did not result in a particularly pleasing meal we ordered...
