Auberge des Chasseurs

We were booked into the Auberge by our hosts at the nearly Clos de Clessé, we received a very warm welcome, the restaurant was lively and jolly on a Saturday night. The menu was simple but everything was home cooked, and delicious, wines of the region were well represented, and staff were very efficient but friendly, this is a small village restaurant who is doing a great job, and it is a pleasure to have spent time there.

We are here on a Friday night and sat on the welcoming terrace. We drank a lovely bottle of vire-clesse wine and put the world to rights over chicken wishbones (brechettes) in unbelievable amounts of garlic. This is exactly what you hope for in rural France, honest well-cooked food with wine to die for. Thank you thank you lAuberge des Chasseurs!

Just an excellent place to have a substantial, simple and delicious lunch for less than 14 euros. Excellent white wine, from a few hundred metres away, served by glass or carafe, . Plenty of local artisans pour in there so get there soon after 12 noon. Charming young women seemed to be running the place.

We had lunch here with our 1,5 year old daughter. Very friendly owner and waitress. Delicious dishes made with regional products. Even our daughter had a lovely meal with chicken ratatouille and potatoes! The restaurant and sanitary area are very clean. We definitely will come back!

One of the best meals I have had in France or anywhere else. A fantastic entrecote with fries and sallad along with good local red wine. A perfect tiramiso and coffee for dessert. All served on the terrace in the small town Clessé. Very priceworthy. Highly recommended restaurant.
