Auberge des Étiers

We stayed here because I wanted to explore Nourmoutier (which was disappointing). The Auberge is run by Fabian and Karin. It looks a little basic from the outside but the owners are very welcoming and the rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable with everything you need for a good night’s sleep including a large, comfortable bed. The great joy is the restaurant which is smart and spacious. There is definitely a genius at work in the kitchen. The food was superb and easily matched what we have had from some of the very top chefs in the world. Fabian prepares high quality food using local ingredients. It was an absolute joy to eat here.

We were greeted with a smile and shown to our table. We were advised of the specials and the option that we could pay our money and let the chef decide what we were going to eat (very Michelin starred). Due to intolerance to a couple of common french ingredients, we opted for the menu option. The amuse bouche and starters were amongst the best food we've had in a restaurant (including Michelin starred). The rest of the meal was also excellent, including local eel and wine. All for about 100€ total for 2 people. We'll be back when we are next in the area.

perfection is not of this world and yet. difficult to find a defect or a negative point. the reception is delicious, the setting is all in subtlety and felty. refinement but without pretense. the map is measured and the number of places (25) is assumed. what is served on the plates is just great. The assortment of flavors is perfect. Congratulations to the chief. You must discover this restaurant absolutely. Thank you for this great evening.

Little cool hostel! The welcome is no longer warm, the cuisine is refined with fresh products a great bravo to the chef. Very affordable price.Many taste for decor. We feel like home. We had a great time. address I strongly recommend. Reservation required!
