Auberge Du Cabestan

We stayed at this hotel for three nights (separate review under hotels) and ate from their standard 23 euros three course menu twice (they do not open Sunday evening). The owner, Marie-Noelle, takes the lead with the cooking and was happy to talk us through...the menu choices in her excellent English. We thought everything we were offered was top rate (we especially enjoyed her traditional home-made charlottes. We gathered her parents used to own this hotel some years ago and that her Mother made charlottes too Wine prices are not unreasonable (good range at 14 euros). we came here when we had a house that was 20 minutes on the road so we could go. at the arrival we were met by a beautiful lady who spoke English and showed us on our table. you can say from the outside that it is old-fashioned. in and out. it was a set menu for 26€ for 3 courses. the food was nice, the portions are not great, but eating tastes of what they have ordered. we had no complaints, it was a nice experience to eat there and not rushed when they expect a la carte to forget when they like home cooked eating from friendly French they will love it.

We ate here on three of the four nights we stayed at this small hotel. The food is all cooked to order so it is not fast food The ingredients are locally sourced as far as we could tell and the prices are reasonable. The...menu is varied with several set meals as well as a la carte so there must be something for even those who are difficult to please The service is polite and friendly. No problem with cleanliness.

we had a brilliant 4 days in the auberge du cabestan, it was great for our family of 4, our daughters (18mths and 3.5 years) loved the room in our family room. the breakfast was large and tasty, we also enjoyed our evening. also to eat there. it was ideal for the exploration of the region and our hosts were very well informed about the region and friendly. we felt very home and could relax! thank you.

Having had some delicious meals and wonderful memories of this restaurant from many years ago, we we delighted to find that it was back in the hands of the same family who ran it when we last visited. Whilst we were made to feel very...welcomen, unfortunately we were very disappointed with our meal not the same quality of fare that we remembered from days gone by.
