Treated to an exceptional dinner here, each course paired with a fine wine discussed and suggested by the sommelier. We were lucky enough to dine in the lovely garden where ambient lights were in the form of wireless orbs so no ugly overhead harsh lighting. Everyone looked like thy were born on the cover of a magazine. Food was explained clearly where not understood by us poor English, and delivered with a subtlety and flair I rarely see. Pre amuse bouche, palette cleansers, post amuse bouche, a myriad of enticing flavours to get you ready for the main event, Wine was possible to be purchased in half bottles for each course which was excellent allowing us to enjoy each course without drownin...
Our first experience at the Auberge St Laurent was in 2014. We decided to return recently for a special occasion as we had such a wonderful experience on our first visit. We really could not believe the difference in the service and the quality of the food this time. I really thought they had lost their Michelin star in between times but when I check ed on my return home they are still listed in the Michelin Guide. The service was extremely slowed and the staff very detached. I really did not enjoy the meal and had to leave some of each dish as I just didn't enjoy it.It was so very disappointing as our first visit here had been such a great culinary experience. I don't know if they were having...
This was a charming hotel with an excellent restaurant. The rooms were individually decorated and ours (Gustav) had a small but ideal bathroom. The restaurant was attractively designed and although large didn't seem so as it is a series of small-ish rooms. The meal was excellent throughout, including the various amuse bouches and petit fours appearing before, during and after the meal. There were four of us and we had various starters and main courses and the only one which was not enthusiastically received was the beef which was deemed good but not very strong-tasting. The lamb and pigeon were both excellent. Breakfast was a standard French buffet in an attractive room. We would definitely...
A lot of Alsace restaurants play up the Alsace thing a bit too much.. and quite often come off as a bit 'samey'. St.Laurent seems to be going for a much more 'classic French' approach. We had the 'fisherman's meal' and I thought it was pretty much perfect. The dishes were complex, interesting, extremely well presented and, most importantly, delicious. The staff were great and helpfully spoke good English and were happy to swap out one of dishes for another off a different menu. Plus the place is very 'picture postcard' pretty. Not cheap but worth every penny.
This restaurant is really great. The first great thing was that I wanted to try about everything on the menu. This never happens to me. I had to make a choice and enjoyed ALL of the dishes i tried, Starters, main dish and dessert were all very tasty and different. I enjoyed the few appetizers offered by the restaurant as well as the few treats for dessert. Service was great and personnel very nice and professional. Priced are a little high but it's probably due to the location of the restaurant. I would go back without an hesitation.
The Auberge Saint-Laurent is your traditional Alsatian country inn with regional specialities and the delights of the refined cuisine happily married, served in a warm and convivial atmosphere. We enjoyed the fish and seafood menu which was delicious and provided with € 57 an excellent price/performance ratio for a Michelin-starred restaurant. If you want to enjoy the wonders of the excellent wine cellar to the fullest, prolong your stay and don't miss the atmospheric rooms, furnished with loving details.
This was a long awaited lunch (we were there 10 years ago for a dinner) with friends in a week day.In summary: excellent ratio quality/price- The meal was excellent: innovation in the presentation and the taste. However, the appetizers, pre-dessert and post-dessert made the lunch a little heavy for us. - Good wines.- Personnel was very professional, also attentive and very kind. This restaurant (in our experience) deserves a visit.
My friends gave me a voucher for this place and from the moment the restaurant accepted or booking it was wonderful.Everything about this place screams quality. From the exterior, to the interior, from the staff to the service.By far the best meal this year. So good that we bought a voucher for some friends.
