July 2017<br/ Recently revisited Bao Shop for lunch. Things have changed a fair bit in the last 6 months, and in a good way. First of all there are more customers. Then the menu had extended, instead of only 3 bao options, there are over 10 different style varieties, catering to a wider taste diet. I ordered a Teriyaki Tofu a black pepper beef baos. There was a bit of a wait still for the order. The packaging it came it also changed, the individual baos are encased in a half open paper bag, so the bag catches all the sauce drips, very handy. Definitely not the cheapest way to get a Bao fix, but didn't experience the chewiness mentioned earlier in one of the previous reviews. Went there on a Friday and tried their Friday-Only Bao. Considering they're Peking Duck and Wagyu Beef, the generosity was fantastic. The beef wasn't over-seasoned and didn't overpower the Bao with other flavours. It wasn't sliced into separate chunks but rather one piece sliced down, but conjoined at the bottom. This made it a little harder to handle. The sauce on top had some horseradish in it too which contrasted nicely with the beef without masking the natural flavour.
