"Great little bar/restaurant. Loved the escargots in pastry. Didn't like being seated at the top of the stairs but able to quickly move"

OK OK my reviews of this place are become a bit repetitive. Several seasons in Val and two weeks and two visits to this lovely restaurant this year. The first meal resulted in four empty plates and the second meal saw another set of clean plates. I may upset a few but if you like fois gras you'll not be disappointed by the starter and whilst scallops and the mountains are not synonymous with each other, they certainly know how to cook them at Bar Jacques. Hubby loves the escargot and frogs legs, the children love the pizzas and if you can manage a pud ... the children recommend the profiteroles! Bravo Bar Jacques .... we've already booked for next season.

Everyone here was so friendly and welcoming, it was like being invited into someone's home and looked after! The food is very traditional so you can get fondue and pizza, the stand outs were the cassoulets and steaks though. The duck was delicious and the beef was superbThe prices were very reasonable and the desserts were gorgeous too.Definitely go for the Creme brulee! We were treated so warmly we couldn't resist visiting twice. Thanks for your hospitality and we'll definitely see you again!

Visited twice recently. Nothing much has changed, nor should it. Delightful local cuisine, the duck "shepherd's pie" was a particularly pleasant discovery but then I have never had a disappointing meal here. Savoie home cooking at it's best. Family friendly and all reasonably priced. Booking adviseable.

This is a relatively small local restaurant with bistro food and pizza etc. Local family, very friendly, cozy informal atmosphere. Great staff, very good food, inexpensive. recommended
