Barley Mow Country Pub Dining Rooms

Booked a table for two on a Saturday evening. Very pleasant pub, plenty of space, the service was very good, the waitress attentive, and the food was excellent. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars everywhere is that my wife ordered a glass of Chardonnay, the said they did not have it and offered an alternative (Chablis). When I got the bill, this glass of wine was charged at almost £14. I do not doubt that it was a very good wine, but at this price it was not an alternative to a glass of house Chardonnay, and at a minimum I would have expected a warning about the price difference, when it was suggested as an alternative. Apart from that, a very pleasant evening and we will visit again...

Very nice Sunday lunch experience. Pleasant ambience, nice portion sizes, lovely selection of vegetables. Slight delay in the delivery of the desserts, meant I'd nearly finished the coffee by the time they arrived. But the addition of a portion of smarties with the coffee is a nice touch.

A lovely venue and great food. We were a large party and service was slower than usual, but it didn’t matter as the banter flowed!
