Barstows Dairy Store And Bakery

I lived in western Massachusetts for many years as a grad student and though it's been many year s since then, I only recently discovered Barstow's one sunny afternoon where I made a pit stop to grab lunch during a summer weekend motorcycle ride. It's a bonafide farm with happy cows lazily grazing ... and though they have a small selection of flavors of their home made ice cream, it's the best that I have tasted in this state ... well, I'm no ice cream expert, or, food critic ... so, will just leave it at that... except that, whenever I visit the Hadley/Amherst/NoHo area, I make it a point to stop there for some ice cream !!

I love this place! Incredible deli food and bakery at a reasonable price. Small local business with friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. There is a beautiful view of hills and cows from the restaurant and terrace. A happy cow statue greeted me on my way in! I am a recurring customer and I will definitely be back. Please pay in cash if you can because they are a small business and thousands of dollars in credit card fees per year to face!

Very cool. It is a working dairy farm and you can visit the cows. Great place to bring the kids. The sandwiches are excellent, but expensive when you are feeding the whole family. The cream cheese Brownie was delicious.

A quick lunch. They also have many baked items and ice cream. Seats, seating and picnic tables. Very nice green view, even better in autumn.

Delicious sandwiches! Warm and friendly service. The porch has a great view over farm fields and the Connecticut River.
