Berkeley Bowl West

Betsy Neylon I live in northern Ohio and my son and family live in Berkeley. I come to visit at least 2 xs a year. The highlight of my trips is always going to Berkeley Bowl. I bring lots of gifts for the kids when I come partly so I can fill it with stuff I buy at Berkeley Bowl!! They have the best cheese selection and the prepared foods are amazing. Because Berkeley is so diverse, there is a wide variety of prepared foods and ingredients that I don't see even at our specialty stores. But what I love the most is the bulk section. The items are pricy, but you can not beat the selection. I was amazed how many different vegan options they had, from non-dairy milk, chocolate, chips, etc. They also had vegan options in their prepared food bar. Great variety of products and TONS of species of mushrooms!

I've never encountered a better selection of fresh produce before. E.g. there are at least ten, maybe fifteen varieties of eggplant and probably twenty or thirty different fresh mushrooms types.

The best place to shop in the East Bay!!! Great selection, organic and fresh meat.
