This is definitely a restaurant for a special occasion. Everything about it oozes style and quality, from the building itself through the décor, the service by a knowledgeable Maitre D and of course the food. Located along one of the main roads leading out of the town of Marmande, it had only been open just over a year when my wife and I visited it in September 2012. There were two menus available for dinner, a four course menu at 42€ and a more extensive one (menu saveurs) at €60. Probably the best meal I have ever had. Why this place is not the number one in Marmande is more than likely because it's not cheap but it is such exceptional value. And the flavours!! For classy beautifully cooked and presented dishes, this far surpasses Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion and Monbazillac's Tour de Vent. A pre amuse bouche of three delicate mouthfuls, an amuse bouche of sun dried tomato soup with pesto and a quail's egg and then... This is a relatively expensive restaurant - set menu €44 for a four course dinner: however the food was beautifully presented and well served, with some interesting dishes and mise-en-bouches. I personally felt a bit overwhelmed with too many flavours competing in my main course...More

I have been to this restaurant several times and each time it has been a wonderful fine dining experience. Creative and beautifully presented food that also tastes delicious, attentive and unobtrusive service. Well worth a visit
