I love that they have a simple menu with plenty of vegetarian options. The chicken thigh was actually delicious but I felt that it would have been better with something else on that plate not sure what and I would still order it again. The cassoulet was the star the beans were perfect and the chef was so wonderful for coming out to describe her dishes to us, incredible of her to take the time out. Our waitress was really knowledgeable about the dishes and a fun person. We got some scotch whiskey and decided to skip dessert maybe next time. I loved the mushroom and farro crispy but not fried or heavy. Their wine selection is solid and they have a great ambience. Not too loud, seating is great...
I absolutely loved this restaurant. My experience here for brunch was incredible, leaving me feeling happy and satisfied with our amazing meal. We each enjoyed two glasses of wine, a Slovakian Orange and a skin-contact Pinot Gris, along with the heirloom bean hummus with caramelized spiced lamb, Turkish eggs, and winter tartine. The spiced lamb was especially delicious and I highly recommend it. Despite already having a filling meal for two, we couldn't resist ordering the cake for dessert, which was a perfect way to end our dining experience. Our waiter, who we unfortunately didn't catch the name of, was very knowledgeable and helped us choose two bottles of wine to take home.
Botanica is truly exceptional. The food, the curated market, the knowledgeable staff, and the wide selection of wines from around the globe make it my new favorite spot for eating and drinking in Los Angeles. The white bean hummus with spiced caramelized lamb and a poached egg is simply amazing. You can enjoy it on its own or with a side of sourdough bread. During our visit for Re:Her, we had the opportunity to try some fantastic wines made by women winemakers and we ended up bringing home two bottles. Come hungry and be prepared to spend generously - it's definitely worth it!
I had an amazing experience at Botanica a couple weeks ago when visiting LA. Everything from the drinks to dessert were so delicious. I was thrilled with the gluten free options. Everyone in my party was trying to decide which dish was their favorite because they were all so good! Our service was great too! Will definitely be back any time we visit LA and will be thinking about this meal for a while! Definitely try this place especially if you have dietary restrictions such as gluten free.
