Brauhaus zur Sonne

I have been to this restaurant twice in the last week because of it location to my hotel. Although I can say the food is okay, the service is okay, the staff is rude, specifically the woman who appears to run the place Marnie. She...never smiles, except when you get your wallet out. rarely looks you in the eye and she makes you feel like you have somehow inconvenience her. My husband and I comment how cute her baby was, she looks over us and says, yes This was not a language issue, but definitely a personality issue. Because of this, I will Never return nor would I recommend this restaurant, there are too much competition in the area to tolerate that behaviour.

Food was excellent. Went for lunch and it was mostly locals, so you know the food is good. Had the wheat beer which was excellent. Ordered goulash soup and schnitzel mit onions and fried potatoes which came with a salad. Waitresses were excellent too. Spoke...English and had English menus too. Staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. A MUST if you go to Mainz, Germany.

I loved the place. not too much tourist at the time when I visited this restaurant and I felt in a local restaurant. their open to late. the decoration is ok and the service and eating was really good. I tried her chicken carving (for and I really loved it. I recommend visiting this place near the mainzer kathedrale. it's not easy to find the place for the first time.

visited last night for an evening meal after the review of the previous reviews. not disappointed. live with native and visitors. a popular restaurant. local very friendly and happy to chat with visitors. food varies and very favorable. also well located, near Cathedral.... Definitely recommended.

this restaurant is always good for me. it is open on Sundays, which is amazing! I really liked the brown Cognac-Pfeffer carving. the service is always friendly, even if the restaurant is busy! they can see local and tourist.
