Brauhof Franz Josef

We spent two evenings out of our three in Wolfsberg in the Br. Franz Josef. This is a multi faceted business near the town centre, offering a bakery, brewery, restaurant, and bar. The food is traditional Germanic fayre, but well presented and cooked, and very...good value too. To cap it off the home brewed Wolfsbrau beer is first class I recommend the Naturtrup, which is an unfiltered lager style. You can eat in either the restaurant or bar, and there are private rooms for groups too. For example, we had starters, mains, a salad plus pints and the bill only came to a very reasonable Helpful staff, with an English menu too. Every town should have a place like this.

We had lunch there around on a friday and it was great to find it, because the kitchen was open all the time, unlike the other restaurants. We chose a Grillplate and Fish and both dishes were quick and very good. There is a...non smokers zone, which was very comfortable (we were also lucky because there was almost no one there). They also have a Konditorei, that was not so good because there was a little choice of pastry.

We came here, close to hotel, was certainly not busy, maybe people rattling round, walked in the restaurant part and no one there, so went to the bar, person there indifferent, we sat down, had beer, ordered and asked for wine, no wine from...wait person, my meal was only warm, partners was hot, no service...then she asked for a tip...worst service on our holiday

Did go there two or three times for lunch. Get typical local food, well presented and good quality. Good value and good beer.

The waitress refuses to speak English and gets irritated at customers. Card reader didnt work. Smoking is permitted inside.
