Bridgeman's Chophouse

Went here expecting the most mouth watering tender steak but it definitely wasn't and now I know why none of the locals I asked about this place acted like they didn't even know about it or said there was other places that where better. My husband had the hand cut ribeye and I ordered the bone in ribeye with scallop. My husband was very tough and mine was ok. The mashed potatoes tastes like they was instant, scallop had the burnt taate like you would get from burning the butter/oil and it setting cooking in it, Mac and cheese would of been delicious if it wasn't loaded with so much garlic. This steakhouse came highly recommended by a friend. While it is quaint and the wait staff were dressed in white jackets it lacked in attention. The hostess was inappropriately dressed for the steakhouse. The food is quite expensive. We had a reservation (necessary) at 5:30 pm and there were only 2 other couples in the place. My wife and I shared a large ribeye most of which was fatty. The steak had no flavor and was disappointing. The port wine mushroom topping was drowning in sauce which overwhelmed the mushrooms. I’ve been to Bridgeman’s on several occasions: birthday, anniversary, work dinner, and every time I have been blown away by the service and food here. I’ve gotten several steak cuts, seasonal seafood and a duck special as an entree and have been very impressed every time. The wait staff are very professional and guide you to a great cocktail or appetizer choice. Might be the best service in Chattanooga. The whiskey selection is great. Severely underrated steakhouse/fine dining establishment in Chattanooga. I wish the chef knew this! I tell anyone who asks that this is the place to go over other fine dining restaurants downtown. My husband and I had dinner here with our son to celebrate his 1st birthday and we had a fabulous experience. Our server, Jeff, was top notch, so friendly and informative, as well as genuine and personable.The food was phenomenal as well the smoked salmon dip, scallops, and lobster mac and cheese were all truly some of the best seafood dishes we’ve had in our lives. The crème brûlée for dessert was also great.We could not have possibly had a better experience. We will always cherish the memory of our son’s 1st birthday dinner at Bridgeman’s!

We chose Bridgeman's Chophouse to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was excellent. The service was exemplary. And the ambiance true to its 1920s Great Gatsby vibe. It is pricey but well worth it as Bridgeman's delivers quality and value. We both chose filets which were expertly cooked exactly to our different specifications and the crème brulee was exquisite. Bridgeman's is our new to go place for celebrating special occasions.
