Oh, boy. Where should I begin? Let's start with a positive. The place is nice. Not a great one, but pleasant enough, all considered. There's a couple of sitting areas inside, a bar and a large outside tent, thanks to Covid. Problem is that it'ssupposed to be a restaurant and not just a lounge. Which brings me to their food. It is horrendously bad. One would think thatit's virtually impossible to ruin shrimp and grits, right? Wrong. The three unpeeled, overcooked and oversalted shrimps arrivedaccompanied by equally terrible mash. A friend had what was supposed to be a vegetable curry. What arrived was borderlineinedible. Starters were just OK. I could continue but, in short, this place is awf...

I don't know what happened to this place but my wife and got the worst service experience ever. We got in 9:15 and asked if they were serving still, and the hostess said yes. Sat us down, then nothing. Finally we had to ask the Hostess for help, then we finally got a waitress, who took our drink order, but never followed through. We even asked if we could get the table wiped down because it was so sticky, and nothing. You know, it wasn't even that busy. I frequented B44 for 2 years consistently (usually for their dollar Oyster special) before the remodel and never had a problem. We're not going back.

We went there for a special dinner, no water, food under cooked and over salty and I had my wine glass knocked over and it broke, wine and glass all over table and chair. No apologies. The bill was incorrect, charging us for 4 glasses of wine insteadof two (one of which they knocked over and didn’t replace). Triple check your bill or even better go somewhere else.Disappointed

Hamachi Poppers, Kale Caesar's Salad are a must! Fried Oysters were overdone, so was the Fried Chicken which was on the small side, almost like a Cornish Hen and could have done without the Petrale. Haven't been back since pre-Pandemic. Huge andbeautiful ly lighted Parklet, tented with heaters.

a long time favorite-service was outstanding and food excellent- It can be VERY noisy on weekend nites
